Came across one today only 400mm from openable door! MI's state 1200mm! Ar or ncs I at risked it as I was unsure.

See I read that as next to any opening In to the dwelling

10. From an opening in a car port (e.g. door or window) into dwelling 1200mm

You saying I should have gone with this?

1. Directly below an opening window, air vent or other ventilation opening 300mm

I went with the first as it was the only one that mentioned door and was not below the terminal

only 1200mm if under a car port, otherwise its the 300mm

assuming we are using the same song sheet here.

I'm sure this point has been raised before, the confusion comes with the term "door" mentioned only in the section dealing with a car port. But window is also mentioned there as well as in point -1
so the term to focus on is "opening" = door, window, air vent etc

Yeah but what happens when you incorrectly classify an appliance causing undue stress etc and then the customer seeks redress through the courts. scary thought but it's happened and no doubt in this blame and claim society it's always a possibility.
