hi have a wilo smart 25/6 pump which has stopped working and was wondering what the best replacement is to get cheers steve

Invest in grundfos of similar rating but first ensure pump didn't fail due to air in system.
 
Your Wilo Smart pump ( I believe B rated) has most likely a faulty PSB. (It is hidden below the wiring in a double space).
It is the electronics that gives trouble normally. Heat won't help their lifespan.
It doesn't bode well for all these similar A rated pumps.
I have had trouble with Dab A rated pumps, which might be just bad luck.
