Is it supposed to be there-yes
is it there-no
in the event of a serious structural failure ie the seal on the burner door failing, could products of combustion freely enter the occupied area-yes
If left in its current state does it pose an immediate threat to person or property-no
If left is it AT RISK of causing a threat to person or property-yes

and that is all we will give you until you can prove you are gas safe registered. how you can do that is in the forum rules.

Well the outer cases on those arent mechanically sealed so at risk no way imho

Room sealed appliance with incomplete seals GIUSP 8.2 ID if it's positive pressure

If you're ever uncertain and it's urgent, you could always carry out a quick call to Gas Safe as that's what they're there for?

Format 100c. Whoever fitted the overheat stat had cut half the grommet away. Sime technical says ID it.
