Hi
My local gas engineer recently diagnosed a faulty fan on this boiler which has been promptly replaced.
However now it is only providing very luke warm water and luke warm central heating. I have tried turning the controls way up . I am reluctant to call him back out as I have already paid for the supply and fit of the fan and it seems no better. The water was cold before and a loud banging from fan so he has improved matters slightly but does not seem to have left it in a usable condition

Any ideas please?
Many thanks

jren, you'll need someone qualified to take a look at it unfortunately. Sounds like you have an issue with a sensor but without seeing what's going on it's hard to say.

When I ask for hot water or Ch the boiler fires up as though it is going to work fine which it wasnt doing before and it continues to run as long as there is demand however the water or the pipes on heating are barely heating up even though the burner is lit

Jren, sounds like the burner is staying on low fire. That's either a sensor/PCB fault or the gas valve/gas supply is faulted. You need a qualified engineer to get to the bottom of your problem ... :)

Hi Ok the engineer came and advised the voltage is not changing at the coil? is that right? which opens the gas valve fully. Therfore the gas valve is not openng all the way to produce a high burn. He has opened the valve manually but says I need a new valve at circa £400. Would I not need a new coil? if the voltage is not modulating correctly to open the valve ??

Hi Jren,
Although I'm not familiar with your particular boiler, checking the fault finding on it does indicate that the fault lies with the gas-valve providing the voltage is present at the modulating coil. B-Gas do a one off repair for around £170 regardless of the price of the part! may be worth trying them out or some other company that offers something similar!
