Had a new boiler fitted 6 months ago only to discover water in my oil tank which resulted in seized pump. Just had another fill of oil and yet again more water and another seized pump. Can these seized pumps be reconditioned? I guess a new oil tank the only solution. Any advice/guidance much appreciated

No, not as far as I know.
Do you know how the water is getting in?

Oil/Fuel pumps are self lubricating and will not last very long without Oil inside them. I am talking in minutes as opposed to hours or days.

No idea how the water has managed to get into tank. Going to try and syfon out the water from tank tomorrow.

You need to get to the bottom of the water ingress. Is the tank open to atmosphere?, ie single bunded and vent missing? You need to dip the tank with water detection paste to see how much water is in the tank. You can get the water and oil pumped out and separated

I have had this problem, the water was condensation forming on the underside of the tank and dropping into the stored oil causing nuisance lock out of the burner and eventually pump failure, called in a local oil tank cleaning company who sucked out the contaminated oil cleaned the tank replaced the seal on the lid and refilled it with new oil. Cheers kop

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
