Hey guys,

Fitted a new Salus pump (mp100a i think it was) to a Pulsa coil 3 its worked since Saturday and got a call today the tenant had no hot water.

When i got there i noticed the digital display on the side had no power so i changed the fuse in the spur and was still having the same problem so i unplugged the pump from the little plug these new A rated pumps have a checked the live and there was power to it so i plugged it back into the pump and checked the live and there was no power there repeated the process and sure enough there was power there... plugged it back in and same thing happened... no power from the live wire from the fused spur again...

never seen anything like this before? could it be a faulty pump?

Thanks in advanced.

Thanks for the replies guys, only used a test screwdriver to check the power.
you think I should take it back and put a grundfos on it? Don't like these new a rated pumps!

so you have not checked any thing correctly really and in fairness you are just probably picking up a bit of back feed...so if you probably have no power to the pump..it will not work will it...learn to use a multi meter...will save you a lot of greif...

Tenant been messing switching things off? Unlikely but ....

The only way to get power to the pump is by wiring it in to a plug and plugging it in? reckon it could be a power overload? the red led is flashing twice per second to indicate that the thermisters are fine... do you think its worth wiring it into a new fuse spur just so she has hot water? I am baffled by this... obviously the tenant will have to switch it on and off when shes going to use the hot water. i just dont know what to suggest

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...
