Any one started using rubber washers on copper tap connectors instead of fibre?

I’m using rubber these days

On number 62s/63s? Discarding the supplied fibre washer and fitting a rubber one? I have been with the chrome service valves and have seemed to seal alot better.

Yep find I can’t get a decent supplier of fibre washers there so thin and have too much slop eg Id is too big these days

Yes use the hep ones

On end feed tap connectors? Can you ruin them by going too tight with being rubber? Usually do them up pretty tight and never had an issue though.

yes on flat face no you could cut them if your going into an iso valve eg compression

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but don’t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.

I want to reconnect some outbuildings to an existing water supply. The supply pipe is old 22mm MDPE and buried for a fair distance so not going to dig it up and replace it 😬. Question is can I use normal 22mm plumbing push-fit connectors to make the connection as finding 22mm MDPE fittings...
