This Rayburn 499k is serviced regularly. Individual components tested but goes into 'lock out'. It fires immediately when illuminated button pressed on control.
There is no pattern to when lockout occurs. It may be several times a day or several days.
Any ideas Anyone?

As above which burner. Have you managed to listen what the burner does and doesn’t do during the relight attempt before it goes to lockout?

The start sequence for pressure jet burners is around 15 seconds, depends on the type of control box. That is normal operation. Unfortunately intermittent faults are often the most frustrating because they don’t always reveal themselves when an engineer is present and 99% of homeowners don’t have the time to sit around waiting for it to happen and make notes.
I can’t say what the problem is as it could be a number of things. If you happened by chance to catch a video with sound of the burner when flame fails and it attempts to relight before lockout I might be able to point you in the right direction, although you could be sitting next to it for hours before it happens. Your best bet is to find an engineer to attend, preferably an engineer found on the Aga/Rayburn website.

First line of defense was Aga. NBG!! They don't know.

The problem is the 400 series of Rayburn have always been problem child’s. Engineer’s either know them well but don’t want to touch them or don’t know them at all.

If you could tell me the type of burners in them please. The 400 series have used several burners over the years. Also if I could have the area you live in I will see if I can find someone who covers your area and is prepared to have a look for you b
