Last saturday I used my first press fit machine , and TBH I was blown away, ok fittings are expensive, machines are expensive but my god they are clean and fast .

I always said I would stop old school and stick to solder, but I may have a dabble.

Do any of you guys use them, if you do what makes would you say are the best , any ones you would avoid.

love them too and yes there slightly more but not that expensive and geberit i use and very handy when theres water in the pipe/you cant turn it off

another plus you dont have to remove the meter to t into it (on gas)

I'm thinking about it as developers I'm working with want to cut out heat work in roof spaces for insurance and we're looking at putting unvented cylinders in the roof spaces.

I'm thinking about it as developers I'm working with want to cut out heat work in roof spaces for insurance and we're looking at putting unvented cylinders in the roof spaces.

I used one in a loft on saturday , absolute doodle.

Not had a play, yet. Just concerned about the costs to get it started.

Would also assume you have to give it a little bit more thought if you cant get the jaws in somewhere ie preassemble a section before fastening in place?

yes you have to give thought but tbh the same a trying to not burn behind etc

Yep pal, that is the big one, theres now one manufacturer that has a 45degree jaw, but yes throwing them about under a kitchen sink , will not be easy

I'm same, never used one but they seem to be getting real popular, I've been looking at them myself, it makes a difference what your be using it for, I'm just domestic so only need up to 28 jaw.

Seen it on a few bio mass installs when I've been doing other things. Looks neat and tidy. Also seen 5 holiday cottages done in mlcp and pressfit. Looks gash, all surface mounted.

A great day, it was a really nice feeling to give a 'bit back'

Yep ok cheers . They are that easy my six year old granddaughter could 'press' lol .
For normal domestic the 12 volt is spot on , the 18 volt is a bit of a beast, and on most domestic jobs is miles too big.

As regards price they are putting together a package in the new year , machine and fittings for ?? , we will have to wait and see.

I quite fancy one , if I just did boiler installs I would 100% buy one, but I do a lot of plumbing and just cant see me getting one under a sink , bath etc etc . So will give it some thought.

Any more opinions guys ?
