Permanent rad removal?

Is there anything in the regs that I’m unaware off to stop us from removing a radiator permanently?? Silly question no doubt.

When removing new build rads, that are obviously piped in plastic, are you just cap ending them and pushing them in the wall or going back to a fitting in the floor upstairs?

I thought this would be the response tbh but it just seems a bit DIY?

Do you use inserts when using caps? I do personally but most chaps I know dont seem to bother.

The amount of poor workmanship I see is shocking. On the plus side, it gives us work and following that, loyal customers.

Well guys,

I had a look at the above job and it’s not as straight forward as it sounds, unless I’m overthinking it as usual.

The rad to come off is being replaced with a log burner and I can’t leave the pipe work in the wall because the flue is going straight out the back of the burner.

My initial thought was to go upstairs and remove the drops completely but the floor above is tiled. So I’m thinking cut and cap the pipes just below the coving down stairs. My worry is the extreme heat from the log burner affecting the plastic pipes behind the plaster board??

I doubt it would be an issue but as I say, I’m an overthinker/worrier.

It was more the hassle of making good tbf. Although I’m sure they’re decorating once the burner has been installed.

She also wants the hallway rad moving along the wall, so they’ll be more decorating issues there as she doesn’t want any pipes on show. Redrew new build property so it’s all plastic pipe and stud walls.
