Discuss Oil tank valve issue. in the USA area at PlumbersForums.net

Hi I have an oil tank valve that needs replaced as it will not shut off fully.
I understand that probably the best way forward is to wait a few months till oil level low then raise valve end of tank but is there a way to bung the oil if say you encountered a leaking valve?

I was thinking many some kind of plug or plastic flap fashioned to a stick to seal inside outlet. 😃

Any thoughts really appreciate
Thank you.
