Recently added a new radiator to a gravity fed system, gone to fit the radiator and noticed water is only coming out of one pipe, I wondered if it could be a blocked return pipe or possibly a blocked 3 port valve, just looking for any suggestions,

Thanks

Maybe an airlock. I thought the idea was you move the lever on the 3 port before refilling the system, to help avoid such?

When you say "water only coming out of one pipe" do you mean literally pouring out of the end of the pipe when it's disconnected, but the pipe the other side of the radiator does not do the same? I would have thought an airlock more likely than a blockage. Other may have suggestions?

Yes that's correct, one side water pours out, the other nothing apart from a little dribble

I'm not a professional plumber, but I think the usual trick for airlocks is to stick a hose on the offending pipe (the one with no flow), connect the other end to a mains cold water tap, and give it a blast! Don't want to over fill the F&E tank though!

See I tried that and the hose just shot off which has really puzzled me

Wow. I didn't mean without a Jubilee clip (topical!) or something to hold it on.
Well maybe you are right about a blockage?
Are you sure there isn't a valve shut somewhere? Did you close any valves when you did the radiator installation, that you haven't opened since? There's not a lockshield valve on the rad. that you haven't opened? 🤪

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hi all I'm hoping someone can shine a light on this for me Since our stop tap on the pavement has now been filled with sand for whatever reason, we are relying on our property fitted stopcock (this is outside on our garage wall) Unfortunately turning this to the closed position only reduces...
