I've got a potterton symptoms he 40 boiler... I'm planning on changing some of the radiators and will need to fill the system back up once I'm done but I can find the filling loop connected to the system. Not under the boiler or above. Also doesn't help that there is no pressure gauge on the boiler. Any ideas?

Never heard of a Potterton symptoms boiler. But the suprima HE range was a open vented or sealed system. If you have a tank in the loft then it is an open vented system and you will not have a filling loop as it will fill from the tank. If it has been converted as a sealed system then try looking for a filling loop in the airing cupboard near to the hot water cylinder or pump, there should also be an expansion vessel and a pressure gauge next to it.

Thanks Darren. Sorry I meant suprima but was auto corrected to symptoms for some reason. Yes I do have a megaflow tank in the airing cupboard on the top floor with a red expansion tank above it, which sounds completely empty and the pressure is on zero but the hot water is working fine.

So from what you are saying when I change a rad I will not need to top up the system as will do it automatically? Is that correct?

Thanks

As per Darren's good information, if you have an open vented system you'll have a small Feed & Expansion tank somewhere, most likely in the loft. It'll be a small tank looking something like this (ignore the big white unvented cylinder in the image on this page, it's the small black one you are looking for) MEGAFLO CYLINDER INSTALLATION - Met Serve Ltd | Need an emergency plumber? - https://www.metserveltd.com/case-studies/megaflo-cylinder-installation/ There's a small chance it'll be made of a different material but most likely to be black plastic.

It'll have a float operated valve in the small F & E tank which feeds the system and keeps it topped up.
