Thanks for your information. My son said the wiring wasn't correct but I guess that's how it was before. An electrician did come last year and rewired a lot of the house (I was living there at the time - I guess he missed it.) I think I need to have a quiet word with the letting agent.Not a new pump in my view and the wiring is atrocious twin and earth straight into the pump is not the way . cheers kop

You're probably right but if it's old, I shouldn't have paid so much for it.

Agreed. But are we even legally allowed to install non-erp pumps? I thought they had to be erp these days even in a direct replacement scenario such as the OP's?
Or are we still allowed to use them provided they were manufactured before the new Part L came in?
