What is the black wire connected to in the background of the first pic?
Has it always done this or only when the new stat was fitted?

Not sure, i was not there when it was fitted. Looks like a 'choc' type connector will have a further look tomorrow..

Does the radiator in the room the stats in get hot first when heatings on? It may need to be balanced down to keep that space cooler. Sounds like the other rooms cool down fast but the room with the stat stays warm for a lot longer

Hi Thanks for the reply. The system has been balanced. Even switched the nearest rad to the stat off to see if it was the same. Same thing happened. From what has been said so far it seems to be a problem with the stat or timer not letting the boiler flash up once the rads/ rooms have cooled. But since they have been changed i can only assume it's something in the wiring set up....?
