Hi,

I am redoing my kitchen and will not have wall space for a radiator. It is an open plan room so there will be radiators in the living room. I am a little concerned that the kitchen might feel cold in Winter so trying to decide whether to fit a heater in the plinth or not.

I am wondering how effective they are and if they are noisy when on. I am thinking of having a central heating one.

I would appreciate your views on them good or bad. And if you like them, which would be a good brand to go for.

Thanks!

Fitted a couple for a chap who had the same problem. He says they're good when they're on but he rarely remembers to turn them on

ok. quite quiet, better than nothing.

myson or smiths are the popular ones.
iirc smiths has a higher output than myson but best checking manufacturers spec

can blow the fan cold in summer

Yes they are good, if you leave it on a slow speed, then they aren't that obtrusive

They have a built in sensor on the heating pipe work that will only allow the fan to run when the pipe is hot, so you can leave them on the winter setting all the time. The fan just comes on and off with the heating (& room stat if required), only switch over to summer setting if you want to override it.
They just need a clean from time to time to keep filter clean.

You can get High Line version as well, had one for years.
