Hi

I have a dishwasher cold water supply that is leaking (See Photos).
My initial thought was the washer was maybe gone but looks ok.

Thought about PTFE tape but everywhere says this shouldn't be needed?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Looks like maybe the blue handle is stopping the nut from tightening all the way

Remove the blue bit and see if the nut will tighten more ?

Inspect the part of the isolator that makes the seal carefully (use good light and a magnifying glass) for cracks or scratches that might be responsible. If you think it's okay, replace the washer in the hose. You need to tighten the hose coupling up reasonably tight in the first instance then, a day later check it's still tight. If you're paranoid like me you'll also check for tightness after a couple of weeks and then every six months.

Leaks can cause a lot of damage. So, if you need to replace the hose use an authentic spare from the washing machine manufacturer, if you need to replace the isolator use a branded good quality one such as 'Ballofix (TM)' made by Pegler Yorkshire, i.e. not cheap stuff you've found on eBay!

As chuck says replace the washer with a new one, sometimes new washers are thin so you can put two on if that is the case.
Screwfix and Toolstation have the washers pack of 10 for little over a pound.

The old one may look ok but has got hard .

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Every two weeks or so I have to go and top up the system because the hot taps are running cold. Boiler display is flashing 0.6 bar and I fill up to 1.3. I've had an engineer look inside the boiler and he can't see anything wrong. I've checked the pipes all over the house and cannot see any...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hi. I need a new toilet supply line but don’t know the size type of the fitting at the shut off valve. It is not 3/8 compression. It is a plastic nut about the same size as the one going into the cistern but has a different thread. Attached is a photo. Can you advise. Thanks.
