Was working on said boiler and I noticed on the inside there was a small puddle of thick brown residue, there was no visible leak from pump or anything else either, if never seen this before.

I should of took a picture, anyone ever came across this nah.. lol

I've seen that inside a few boilers. Haven't a clue what it is and its never bothered me because i haven't got my csi ticket

Is it organic? I.e a sulphur or is it man made? Brick dust? Could the flue have been greased with something other than silicone grease?

Have to agree with Ambrosia, logics aren't bad we've fitted about 100 and only had one breakdown, early days. Haven't come across any brown goo yet whilst servicing.

Been fitting them for last few years 4 I think might be 5. Fit minimum of 2 a week some Times if we are all on the go its 20. Breakdown is about 3% ish by comparison Baxi duotec GA was in excess of 90%!

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
