I have a bog standard vented, fully pumped c/h system. Recently had to drain down, refill and bleed system. After a fair bit of grief with air, have managed to restore system to fully working.
As part of the saga, I traced all elements/pipes of system and found that both of the system ABV's have been installed in the "return" pipework from rads/immersion coil to boiler, rather than in the supply pipework. This seems to contradict all the literature I've found. Wonder if system pipework will always be difficult to bleed if I don't move the ABV's to supply side of pipework?

then why didn't you put an air bag on the flow then??

if you have probs just bleed through pump , next time you drain stick on in !
