I currently have 3 old radiators that refuse to heat up. Last year a plumber kindly removed a cap and released the pin but I have no idea how he took the cap off and I don't remember whether or not the system was bled at the time. Does anyone recognise this type of cap. If so, any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm finding it difficult to get a local plumber out for this (hopefully) small job. Tia

Taking cap off and loosening pin is only a stop gap till the valve can be replaced. Normally you would leave the head off until replaced to stop them jamming again.

Maybe a good idea to get the three swapped out and regain control.

Thanks Simon. I think it would be a good idea to have all the valves replaced but in the meantime I'm struggling to take the cap off. Can someone advise? Thank you

Unscrew the nut directly under the cap.
