Hi,

I have a 25mm plastic (HDPE?, MDPE?....blue) pipe that comes into my shed and i'd like to run 2x flexible hose connectors off it. The internal diameter of the flexible hose connections looks to be about 20.9mm.

What would the pros recommend?

What’s the use for the hoses ?

And it’s mains correct ? What’s the use for the cold water ?
The plastic pipe runs from somewhere at the house and goes on a journey round the fairly large garden, it has a couple of stops (i think) before it gets to this shed. I'll be putting a stopcock inline to be able to shut it all off locally.

The flexible hoses then just go to some nicer taps, they have hot and cold input but will just be using the cold side.

The use for the water is just for domestic, cleaning etc

As for the flexiable hose are they plain end or like washing machine hoses ?

the flexible hose has a metal hexagonal metal fitting, about 20.9ish mm internal diameter, and the hose has a flexible metal mesh over it. Similar to the attached.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Copper pipes, I think its fair to say, is not what it used to be, the copper is getting thin while the cost is going up. Meanwhile, plastic Pushfit seems to be getting better and better, cost and convenience was always better, but now the quality is to, have we reached a stage where plastic will...

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
