Hi
I've been to survey for a new boiler in a customers house today. During our conversation I mentioned about the need to upgrade his existing rad valves for TRV's to meet the Part L regulations (timer and stat already present). The guy went through the roof. I believe he thought I was trying...
A friend of mine has a small flat with a tiny hallway, he has a modern Worcester combi with a wireless thermostat and TRV's all round. When I visited recently I could hear the boiler cutting in and out fairly frequently without the living room really warming up. His hallway leads onto the...
Until recently I had no TRV's on my 14 radiators. I keep them ALL on, and had successfully used the valves at both ends to get what I wanted.
In the main living areas and bathroom, I had the valves fully open so they were very hot.
In the lesser used rooms and bedrooms, I had them nicely...
Hi all new to site, i've removed a 3 rads & replaced them but i only connected 1 with the other 2 closed at the trv's. I've bleed the system which is fine however the pressue gauge keeps dropping to 0.5 after i've filled it up to 1-2 bar i have to refill in order to get hot tap water... thanks
Hi
does anyone know a simple guide on part L regs and what to implement when upgrading someone's heating system.
I have had a look at the regs but find very little detail. ie are trv's compulsory etc
any help appreciated
Hi,
8 out 9 rad trv's appear to have been fitted to return side of rads, causing a lot of noise.
Question is, would it be easier/feasible to reverse the flow/return in the airing cupboard and just swop the remaining trv over.
Anything for a quiet and easy life.
Hi, I'm thinking about fitting programmable TRV's , the ones I've looked at are Honeywell Rondostat, etrv and Pegler Terrier itemp. Prices vary massively, what would you go for and why?
Any advice appreciated.
Hi
I have got a Fiorelli boiler which is working fine and heating the majority of the radiators in a two bedroom house. However, two radiators do not get warm at all. I have even replaced one of the radiators and this has not resolved the issue.
Any ideas of how I can resolve this problem...

We've just moved into a house that has a central heating system running with TRV's and no room stat, what are the benefits of adding a room stat ?
Thanks.
I have room stat in hall, non try rad in hall, all other rads trv, programable controller and grundfos pump, all very much normal.
At home all day at moment so heating on from 9am to 10-30pm.
In the early evening, about sunset the temperature in the hours rises about one and a half degrees. No...
We have an ancient but very serviceable Ideal W2000 RS 40 (GC 41 421 20) boiler running hot water and CH.
There is no room thermostat or TRV's on any radiators.
I'm reluctant to DIY as the system is obviously quite old but all the rads work and the house is reasonably comfortable. My son and his...
What do you guys do about fitting TRV's when all the radiators are boxed in with radiator covers? I cant imagine they would work very well in those conditions, can you get ones with a remote sensor?
Hi Guys,
Need you're expertise please.
My heating system is very basic I don't have a termostat, all I have is a knob on the boiler to turn the heat up on the water.
This was a problem as in the morning I needed the heating on but also the hot water for a shower. But because the central...

I need to fit a 1010mm high x 310mm wide radiator on a 440mm wide wall, so was intending using a 15mm 'Corner TRV' and the matching lockshield valve under the rad so these don't stick out beyond the wall ends. I'm told that these type valves are for towel rail use, not radiators, although with a...

Am fitting new rads in my house which has a one pipe system. I have gone out and bought myself a set of danfoss one pipe TRV valves at great expense! Here they are:
RA-G Valves Without Pre-Setting.
However instead of having a compression fitting to plumbing in the 15mm copper pipe it has a 1/2...

Hi All
I have been asked by an older chap to change his rad valves to TRV's. Now I did this on my own system so no issues in how to do it but I do know that another handymay tried to do it for him and the old valves wouldn't undo so he didn't do the job!
Any advice with some tricks of the...
