Ive actually done that myself. Some years ago now. The woman told me she had turned the water off outside but she hadnt or she`d got the wrong stoptap. Then the sink taps were the wrong way round, so I thought the mains was down to low pressure, when actually what I was getting through was the hot water that was now running cold. I was trying to change the head on the stopcock in that exact same location and ended up on my side lying in freezing cold water. Fortunately I had the wit to tell the customer to call the fire brigade, who got the stopcock head back on for me. The thing is, the longer you are trying to get the head back in, the colder your hands are getting and soon they are really cold!

That's a proper school boy error.

Having read a number of your posts I have come to the conclusion that SteveWannadoPlumbing would be more appropriate for you and if that earns me a suspension then so be it!

wtf why did you have to call the fire squad,

who would you call in an emergency, when a job suddenly goes pear-shaped? When the stopcock head that you (I) thought was down to low pressure, turned out to be fully live and you had water spurting out and you realised you couldn`t get the head back on?

My self or if snapped other side of water board them, get stuck in and it's your own fault

Does that mean I can call them if I need some free extra labour on a job ?
