Hi, can someone tell me how we worked out the weight of lead per foot by using a piece of string and wrapping it around it? I cannot see it on the search bar any where.

Cheers

Cant remember exactly
As far as..taking a piece of string wrapping around the lead pipe exactly twice
Measure the length of string in cm multiply and devide by something it gives you the LB of lead in weight..

If its to find out what size lead lock you need, just use a universal transition fitting instead, philmac make them, also another brand I forget but they will fit any size in a range, for example 15-21mm

Universal Transition Couplings | Philmac

However most pipes are either 7 or 9lb lead... rarely some are 5lb and some are 8lb....

So I measured with me calipers and it was like 22.68mm OD. So went with 7lb and worked a treat. Philmacs were 45 squids for 2 compared to 16

Wtf why did you pay that much ?

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
