Hi guys, been called to this boiler, no heating or hot water, fan runs, could smell gas (escaping out flue gas test point, worryingly the o ring had came off the bung so not sure how long it's been like that ) so if I'm smelling gas the gas valves operating but getting no spark. I haven't looked yet but water could be dripping onto one of the connections as you'll see in the pic. From the pic, is it worth trying to repair or should I scrap it?

That’s upto the Cus bit I would be suggesting either fixed price repair from vok or new boiler

It's a rental, spoke to the landlord and said its not worth spending money on, he's agreed and wants a new boiler so that's a relief :D

Incredible timing lol , I have been to one today .
Dripping like a gud un from sale place , somethings blown , boards soaked . O ring required is about £4 , assuming it comes out .

I was unsure if it would be an o ring or not, what i didn't want to do was waste my time stripping it down to find it was more than the o ring causing the leak. Was hoping someone would have had the issue before to confirm, but new boiler is the better option. The boilers around 10 years old and to my knowledge, never been serviced.

As said the o-ring is available but getting it out could be a nightmare, the other part is the flowpipe with the auto air vent etc etc , comes as one .
10 year old one of them B of S is a swap IMO .
My customer says hers is 6 years old , yer rite .
I have a feeling she is getting a new one too lol

Good to know for future, I was worried it might be corrosion to the connection on the heat exchanger side, which obviously wouldn't be worth the cost to replace.

Haha! You’ve got no chance Removing that TFJ, it’s a common fault.... they seize in good n proper. I went to one last week, it’s been leaking for years( tried to repair it years ago)but the customer has never been able to replace boiler until now.
