i have picked up the form for opening an account with Trade Point, only problem is they ask for business info like letterheads and business cards, at the moment i dont have anything up and running and my business isnt set up as of yet but i am wanting to buy tools and fittings and this is one of the cheapest places on certain things i want

does anyone know if i could manage to open a card by any means, im not sure what i could do at all

thanks

if I remember correctly I think I showed them my CSCS card lol

Just make a quick letterhead on word or something like that, thats what I did and they accepeted it. You could show them a membership card ie gas safe etc.

They won't turn you down they want your money

thanks guys, iv got my letter heads ready to print off so i can do that, did you have to show them 2 bits of identification for business or just the one, i havent recieved my details for my CSCS card yet so only got letterhead ready really, iv got the next few weeks to sort all my stuff out

I just showed em a letterhead and business card (£2.99 for 500 @ DPC Print) and no probs

I just showed em some receipts from the plumbers merchants and they felt sorry for me. lol.

when i opened mine i gave them a vista print card lol sorted

they had a vista print card off me too and a self produced letter head.

Compared with other trade depots I don't find Trade Point that cheap. I get much better prices from my independent.

yeah i see where your coming from, all of them have good deals on stuff thats all, like screwfix have the makita 18v with 3.0 LI battery for £150 whereas its not as cheap in others but then other things are cheap in the other shops, i like tradepoint because you can get the 15mm copper in 2m lengths if thats all you need at the time, most others that iv seen are all in packs, iv not found any other local that do it seperate yet

im on with my business cards and letter heads now so should have my trade point card soon

I've bought single lengths of 15mm from Grahams, PTS, James Hargreaves and Plumb Centre an any number of independants! If they don't sell in singles they are missing out on business!

I always buy in bundles, it's cheaper. Coming down in price now as well.

Except 28 as only bought as required.

You can buy singles in PlumbFix. 20% off all plumbing prices. Not bad at all.

Yep ive not come across a merchants that don't sell single lengths.

When I've been in picking up a bundle I've seen odd lengths (1 and 2 metres) of 28 and CP, when I asked they said they sell it by the metre if required!

Ive heard that Plumbcenter is having a sale on copper next month, unsure if its just for my branch or nationally.

I bought a bundle of 28mm for less than that 4 years ago!

Last bundle of 15mm was 10 x 3m Yokshire tube for £55 plus VAT in November.

I generally dont buy bundles these days except for a job. My merchants charge the same per length for 1 or 10 lengths as they are the cheapest around anyway. I would have to buy 10 bundles for any discount.
