I have a Saniflo Sanicompact which is about 6 years old. If the button is pushed it appears to flush correctly and the macerator and pump sound fine. However, if water (or other liquid!) is poured into the toilet bowl the pump makes a very loud buzzing sound and doesn't pump the water away. The noise will continue until the toilet bowl is manually drained, at which point pushing the button will flush it as normal again.
It has all been completely cleaned, which doesn't seem to have made any difference to the problem (although the macerator sounded a bit rough before it was cleaned and sounds OK now when flushing).

Does anybody have any ideas as to what the cause may be and what could be done to fix it?

Thanks.
