Hello,

I'm a homeowner, not a DIYer. I have an almost 1 year old SaniCompact Comfort wall-hung toilet which has worked flawlessly until about a month ago. The last couple of times it was used, it made a loud noise and acted like it didn't want to flush. I guessed that it might be time to give the impeller a cleaning with the Saniflo cleaner. I used the cleaner, twice and that didn't help. It won't flush at all now, the motor just makes a humming noise if it's plugged in. I called the customer support number and was not given any solutions other than to return the motor since it's still under warranty. I know that nothing besides waste and toilet paper (and not a lot of tp) has been put in that toilet. The vertical lift is only about 6-12" and the plumber ran the sink drainage through the saniflo for better flow. We do have rather hard water, and I'm wondering if that could be the problem.

Unfortunately, I have been away from home a lot since the toilet was installed due to my late husbands' long distance medical treatments, so I don't know if lack of use and lack of cleaning the impeller has caused this problem or if it has s a defective unit. I would add that the problem started upon returning home after being away for several weeks. My plumber was willing to install it, but admitted he had no experience with Saniflo like all of the other plumbers in my area. I chose it because of the size and gravity was not an option for this new bathroom which is in a concrete slab house with in-floor radiant heat. I have read about some Saniflo toilets being un-jammed by using a slotted screwdriver from the outside of the motor housing to move the motor shaft... kinda like a garbage disposer that's jammed. I have access behind the wall, but really no room to work, so I guess the first thing to do is remove the toilet from the wall. My plumber is willing to help, but I need advice on how someone with Saniflo experience would go about troubleshooting this situation. Appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Yours truly, SG
