What material is this pipe coming in?

Lead?

If so, should it be replaced?

Yes its lead by the look of it. I can also see a bit of 1/2" or 25mm brass or copper apparently soldered in to a 3/4" lead to lead stoptap.

It does look as though its probably a 3/4" imperial lead main in 9 or 11lb lead.

The modern policy is to renew it.

Some utility companies have policies about renewing lead mains and you can get a grant from them, but it seems to differ from company to company what you get.

Hi jono1 agree with Bernies post I think most water undertakers [suppliers ] tend to bring in 25mm polymains[mdpe] for supplies when renewing hope you are lucky and qualify for a grant or free installationregards turnpin
