Ideal Logic Heatmax H24 Whistling
A near constant note when the boiler is fired. Appears to be from Venturi/Fan area. Any ideas on fix

Yes, get a Registered Gas Engineer in to have a listen.
Thanks.
How old is it?
Get the installer to check it over or call in a warranty visit?
Ive tried to arrange that Ideal send and engineer to carry out a service. The boiler is 2 yrs old. I have to say that Ideal are worse than useless. They rearranged the appointment twice befire saying they wouldnt be able to attend until next year! I am an ex gas engineer with ACS qualifications. Im fairly certain that the whistle is caused by the fan bearings probably dried out and worn. A brand new fan has been ordered. I await my local gassafe engineer to service the boiler and fit the new fan

What's the deal with the big companies making people wait 2 or 3 months for an engineer to visit?

Had a few customers who are covered by bg or homeserve for leaks but have been told it would be over 3 months before anybody can attend. Not good when customers paying for a service they're not delivering.

I am particularly angry about it. I have worked as a senior engineer for the largest two shower companies in the UK. Giving customers a high level of service. Ideal have been shocking in their level of disdain. It is unacceptable. It makes me think that Ideal have some serious problems with their customer support.

Why would you buy and pay to have a fan fitted on a boiler under warranty and the fault hasn’t been properly
Diagnosed.

Fault has been diagnosed by myself and fixed. I can tell you its no fun living with a near constant whistle. And there is the clue. I used an app on my phone to determine the whistle is at 1khz. This happens to be the pwm frequency from the main pcb to the fan when the fan is at lowest speed. At full and intermediate fan speeds there is no whistle. The fault is therefore within the fan. In the control electronics within the fan unit. A new fan was obtained and fitted.

I have an ideal vogue max S18 boiler and I’m considering fitting auto balancing TRVs, my question relates to the boilers pump. I see a boiler pump menu for either 70% or 100%, so, is the pump set at either one of two fixed speed percentages or does the pump actually vary speed, (modulate)...

Ideal Logic 24, Previous problem was that the hot water was only cold or barely warm if the heating was in use. If heating was off and boiler cold then would get hot water most of the time. Changing the flow cartridge about 2 years ago (when I moved in) solved this problem enough to suffer it as...

Hello, I am seeking some advice, I have a POTTERTON PROMAX 28 COMBI Boiler and I noticed yesterday that the water around the house is no longer warming up. The heat exchanger has been changed 6 months ago, so I do not believe it is that. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Thanks
