Kitchen mixer tap, took off handle, no idea how to take out cartridge/valve leaking, on the back there’s a hole for an alley key, doubt that’s it.

Looked at videos on YouTube, does make me wonder to put a rag over tap with a wrench to turn anti clockwise, but slips, I don’t know, run out of idea, help please?

more than like a cloth over the cover and pair of grips but dont squeeze too tight you may damage. do you have the cartridge. if not then why not just go with a new set of taps. from a good make

Cone shaped chrome shroud will probably unscrew. Try using a rubber glove or boa type rubber wrench to get better grip without damaging chrome. Will almost certainly unscrew anti-clockwise looking down at end of spindle.

This bit will unscrew mate to give you access to the cartridge.
