Hi,
I've got a CWSC / Hot water cylinder, run on oil and my programmer has 2 on/off settings.
Trouble is that controls both hot water and heating.

Don't want to leave heating on constant as not there daytimes and not all rads have trv's

The thermostat is wireless and is a pain in the r5e.

Any recommendations for a 3x time controlled but split heating/hot water programmer?
(ideally with a wireless temp control only - none of the fancy +/- 1,2,3 degrees thingy)

Hopefully if there is such a thing it's a straightforward swap with a few wires ???
Cheers
Rich

you could just set your roomstat to as low as possible and the heating won't come on unless its dam cold.

You cannot just change the programmer to give extra programs unless you already have 2x 2 port valves or a 3 port motorised valve to seperate the heating from the hot water circuit.

that'll be the litle silver box sitting on top of a pip near the hot water tank?

Yes that's the one.But you need one on the heating circuit too. Those valves not only open to let the water through to heat the circuit but also have a micro switch that turns boiler and pump on.

I suspect the OP may have a pumped heating/gravity hot water system configured as a C Plan. So a second valve, on its own, would not be sufficient.

so not a straight forward swap then! :(
All depends on your system.

How many water pipes are there connected to the boiler? If you have only two, then you should be OK. But if you have three or four then you will have a pumped heating/gravity HW system.

Check which you have and post back.

Can you also post the make and model of your existing programmer.
