Alright guys?

I don't do much installation, mainly breakdown/service work, so forgive me.

I've gone to look at a mates boiler, old baxi solo which is corroded through and needs replacing. I was thinking of fitting a baxi ecoblue 15 erp as it doesn't require a pump overrun and it has rear flue capability.

There's one flow and one return - with another teed in to the return pipe, which I'm assuming is the cylinder return. The pump is to the side of the boiler, but the problem is, I can't find any zone valves anywhere (or the electrical isolation). There's a room thermostat and a cylinder thermostat. Is there any type of system design which doesn't have a zone valve, only one pump and a cylinder and room thermostat?

The only thing I can think is that the zone valve is under the floorboards or something, which is inaccessible due to the floor being tiled!

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers!

Could be two flows and a combined return. What's the age of the house? Could be gravity hot water.

Sounds like T from cyl like you say.
If it's not a Y plan it could just be wired simple !!( really simple )

Can't see it being gravity as all the pipework that is visible is 22mm. The house is pretty old, cylinder hasn't got any lagging at all.

How would it work with wiring a cylinder stat and room stat if there's no valve? Surely when one is calling, they'll both be on?

How have they been useing the system?
All on during the summer or does it work like a normal system?

Could be a hidded valve somewhere under floor boards, had one under a bath once

They've only just moved in, so haven't really used it. But you could put heating or hot water on individually on the timer, so guessing there's a valve somewhere.

Bit of a nightmare as the bathroom is above it with a tiled floor!
