Does anybody know if you can use mapress crimp fittings directly onto chrome pipe , obviously plastic is a no but is crimping different???

i cant see any reason why not, i would do a test and raise it to 8 bar first, is it on show?

Yes some on show trying to save on loads of compression joints everywhere .
Was unsure if a crimp was different than push fit on chrome pipe

yea they do, so you will be fine

We were unsure if the coating would cause an issue with the rubber on the fittings

should be fine but i would test it, nothing worse than finishing a job then you here them go/pop
