Discuss Boss onto horizontal 110 waste in the Plumbing Jobs | The Job-board area at PlumbersForums.net

Hi all,

Trying to plan my bathroom and i want confirmation that it’s ok to boss into toilet waste under floorboards (bungalow) as shown in the pic below (boss just clipped on, not drilled/welded yet). This is ‘down stream’ of the toilet itself. Also, assuming this is ok, how many bosses can one use? (Eg 1 for sink, one for bath etc).

I want to limit the number of holes in my external walls (tyvek tape is expensive!), so would like all the waste to go out though the soil pipes if poss.

Trying my best to learn and make sensible decisions so that I can talk sensibly to my plumber.

Cheers,

Oli

Is that underground 110mm pipe?
I heard it won’t solvent weld.
You could use junctions, although extra money and also consider the possibility of using a 110 junction to come out in 110mm to use for to connect to wherever you want, if it suits below your floor layout

You can't solvent weld onto underground pipe its either cut a section out and use a bossed tee and a slip coupling or you could use a mechanical boss adaptor . Cheers kop

Thanks for all the replies... is there anyway I can tell what sort of pipe it is? What i know is that it’s 110mm, and it’s inside, under the floorboards, but not *underground*. It’s basically a branch connection into a stack outside.

If I can’t use a strap on boss, can I use a tee and a manifold?

You can use a strap on boss just need to use some good quality mastic eg sticks like "&£@
