Hi,
i have a Sanitop maceratorwhich has worked fine for the 5 yrs it has been fitted. I recently noticed wet around the base of the unit and discovered that when the toilet is flushed that the liquid during the initial discharge from the unit, bubbles up through the charcoal filter cap. Can anyone help with advice as to what may be causing this, prior to me checking for blockages in the pipe work, non return valve, or main unit. It would save me some diagnostic time. I'm not a plumber but served my time and spent 39 yrs as an engineer in a nuclear shipyard. Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Redcoat.
No need for nukes with this little problem mate and no need to start ripping the pipes apart either as it`s a known problem and easy to fix if you have a 7mm socket, a large & medium screwdriver and a mallet plus you can take the sight of what`s inside.

I`ll send you a personal message either later tonight or tomorrow.

Noticed your signature, you do much work on macerators?
