offset
The UTC offset is the difference in hours and minutes between Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and local solar time, at a particular place. This difference is expressed with respect to UTC and is generally shown in the format ±[hh]:[mm], ±[hh][mm], or ±[hh]. So if the time being described is two hours ahead of UTC (such as in Kigali, Rwanda [approx. 30° E]), the UTC offset would be "+02:00", "+0200", or simply "+02".
By convention, every inhabited place in the world has a UTC offset that is a multiple of 15 minutes but the majority of offsets are stated in whole hours. There are many cases where the national standard time uses a time zone that differs from the UTC offset appropriate to its longitude.
Hi All,
Our soil pipe comes into the property too far to the left, this means you don’t have enough room when on the toilet and there is a big gap between the toilet and sink.
So we need the toilet moved over to make the suite look more symmetrical. The problem is that the mains pipe is at...
Hi guys, I hope you can help. I have to do a bathroom install as part of my plumbing course. I have to use copper connections for the supply pipes for the bath. The pipe coming from the ground into the iso valves has to be clipped back to the wall so I'm guessing there will be a slight offset...

Hello everybody. Could somebody please tell me why it is necessary to offset the vent pipe by 450mm directly off the top of an open vented cylinder. Iv heard its to "prevent one pipe circulation" what exactly does that mean? Thank you.
Quick question, does anybody have an easy way to measure an offset for rainwater or plastic piping. My problem is that I have quite a few rainwater down pipes to do tomorrow and normally the offset to go between the gutter and wall is quite short so it can usually be lined up by eye then...
Hi Guys,
I hope somebody can give me some advice on the use of offset pan connectors. I propose to use a 100mm offset multikwick pan connector to achieve the ideal location for the positioning of a new pan. Has anybody any experience as to how successful those connectors are when installed...
Anyone who has a iphone might like this little ap. It calculates the measurement for bending a pipe offset. Bit gimmicky, but we can never have enough aps and who knows it might help a few students....

Hi all,
Can anyone help with this?
I have to fit a pan in a bathroom where the soil pipe has been cut flush with the wall at 120mm centre from floor level. Most pans are 180mm to centre and the biggest offset connector I have seen is 40mm. Not enough. I don't think I can use a straight...
Hi
Anyone help me with a query??
Im installing a toilet and the new waste outlet of the pan is about 20mm lower than the pan to stack connector. The only thing i can think of is to either raise the hieght of the pan with a infill (very ugly) or lower the pan to stack connector by making a larger...
I joined this forum as I am hobby DIY’er and I had trouble with some leaking radiator extensions. I got some excellent advice from members, one of which lived locally to me and was a professional plumber (Atomic Plumbing).
So when I came across another problem, which seemed impossible for me to...
Anyone come across any/know where to get some? Thinking something like those offset connections you get with some bar mixer showers, but in rad tail form. The reason is that the tiler on a job I'm working on has cut his tiles tight to the pipes but 10mm too far apart, so the towel rail I'm...
Hi all,
I have an issue with fitting a towel radiator you might be able to help me with (I'm a complete novice as regards plumbing BTW).
I am replacing my old Quinn bathroom radiator with a 600mm x 1600mm towel radiator. The problem is the pipes coming up from the floor are 700mm apart and the...
Hi all.
Just curious to find out the proper way to measure an off set? Obviously different tradesmen have their preferred method so if you could share what way you think works best that would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers.
Hi all,
Does anyone know which products from the Marley 110mm soil range to use to form an offset bend to go around the eaves of a house?
They produce an Offset Bend which I take it is used for the top (see link below), but what about the bottom of the bend?: Catalogue - Marley Plumbing &...
Hi
I have recently completed workshop 1 and will be attending workshop 2 shortly. Paid 6K for the course and work full time, are there any grants available to offset my costs. Plus any advice on anything to do with this course would be much appreciated. Enjoying it so far.
Thanks
When I tried to fit my toilet to its waste pipe I found that the 110mm pipe sticking out of the wall is slighly lower than the outlet of the toilet. I can get the straight waste connector that I have (KWIKFIT SK40) to fit onto the toilet and into the plastic waste pipe but it is really pinching...
