condensing boiler
Condensing boilers are water heaters fueled by gas or oil. They achieve high efficiency (typically greater than 90% on the higher heating value) by condensing water vapour in the exhaust gases and so recovering its latent heat of vaporisation, which would otherwise have been wasted. This condensed vapour leaves the system in liquid form, via a drain. In many countries, the use of condensing boilers is compulsory or encouraged with financial incentives.
I live in Edinburgh and have received a quote for swapping my old back boiler, 23 years old with a new condensing combi boiler, as I know the Baxi Bermuda I have is really inefficient, and my gas bill is £100/month! Also Scottish Gas are refusing to cover it. I'm guessing it's too much risk for...
Hi has anyone dealt the Keston combi 30 (twin flue system).
I went to see a job earlier and there is already a Keston system boiler in with this strange twin flue system in.(Which by the way is made out of 50mm solvent weld waste pipe. The propery is a 30-40 unit block of apartments. In the...
Hi Folks, I just wanted to ask about the oil consumption of my condensing boiler. It is a Worcester boiler which was installed and commissioned 2.5 years ago. The boiler achieved an efficiency back then of 98%. I have been keeping a close eye on my oil use recently and feel that it is excessive...
I know it doesn't really work like this without seeing the job but give me a price for fitting a condensing boiler and 7 rads re piping the whole lot, you can use hep for most of it, the ground floor 3 rads are on drops and are being chased into the walls( not down for plastering) the existing...
We moved into a newbuild 18 months ago but over the last 2 months the overflow pipe to my boiler (located directly outside the side of the house, not to a drain) constantly drips. This only happens when the hot water is activated, and not when central heating is activated. The pressure of the...
Did any1 no that a a normal gas boiler heats a rad 30% more than on a condensing boiler. Has any1 ever fitted a new boiler like a combi swap an the customer says the house isn't has hot?
Help! We had the above boiler fitted 2 years ago and it seems to have developed a life of it's own!! My 90 year old mum lives with us who feels the cold and the only way to keep the radiators hot is to have the system on constant and put the thermostat up and down. It's costing us a fortune in...

Has anyone experienced "leaking" on the new Ferroli Modena condensing boilers? We installed one this afternoon and liquid began seeping out from the bottom of the case via the gas tube. On opening the boiler we found that the tube which (probably) collects flu condensate is just stuffed into a...
Hi all.
What are people's opinion of these?
They've been suggested as a cheaper alternative to a combi. Is this the case?
If so, what are people's reccommendations for a middle of the road 38kw?
Thanks all.

hi was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem im having with a riello rdb burner on a warflow condensing boiler i looked at today.it runs fine for anything from 10 mins to 20 mins then loses pressure from 9bar to zero.it then either relights or cycles on and off a bit but doesnt...
Hi, first post so apologies if technical language is wrong!
background: last 20 years we have had a 5 bedroom house with a boiler that was new 20 years ago. Separate hot water and radiator circuits. All radiators heated quickly and were of an even temperature top to bottom and inlet to outlet...

Hi all,
First post here just looking for help or a link to setting up an oil fired condensing boiler. What is the ideal temperature for flow and return,is it 70/50, 75/55 and also what should the drop across the rads be? Should it be 12c or 20c. Thanks for any help
Hi guys. I've a grants vortex oil condensing boiler installed. The burner is a riello RDB. The system is installed approx 6 months from new. The boiler was working great til I ran out of all oil yesterday. Ive had a refill and now for some reason I don't seem to have power at the boiler or...
can you confirm pls, that if a none condensing boiler has to be moved to another room than it has to be up grade to new condensing boiler, yes i am gsr but have not done much gas work lately due to getting more building work coming in,
I have a customer who has a one pipe system in steel, 15-20 radiators on it, with an old floor mounted boiler. He wants to split the system up into two and put two combis in. I can do all the pipework side of things not a problem, just wondered though would a standard condensing combi do 8-9...

Just been to a property today and the the boiler has 15mm gas pipe, The boiler has been recently installed its a Vaillant ecotec plus 24. I need to let the landlord know, but don't want him to think I am trying to pick out mistakes on some one else's installation.
Would appreciate list on...
