cleaning
Cleaning is the process of removing unwanted substances, such as dirt, infectious agents, and other impurities, from an object or environment. Cleaning occurs in many different contexts, and uses many different methods. Several occupations are devoted to cleaning.
Just wondered what peoples best ideas are to clean secondary baffles, Grant, Worcester, Warmflow, Firebird etc.
Especially since the mi's say "don't use cleaning agents or wire brushes" how the heck are you supposed to get them clean, or is that the point........ They want you to buy new ones...
I've got an old heating system in my house, Baxi back boiler and 8 rads. Some of the rads have been getting warm at the top but cold at the bottom. I took one out and flushed it through. It took nearly an hour with a hose before I could get a clean flow! I though I would run some Sentinel X400...

I took down and flushed through my radiators. I intend to put in a cleaner (X400) to clean the pipework and remove any further residue, then an inhibitor, but I have been warned that X400 will produce many leaks in the system.
Is there any truth in this, should I not use the X400. My...
I have drained my CH system down and although the drain cock finished discharging there were 3 rads that still spouted water from the air vents. I have now drained these as well. During the winter they heated up ok so I would be surprised if they were blocked. But advice would be appreciated...

Hi all,
I am looking to buy a thin but sturdy brush for cleaning between the burners on back boilers.
any one recommend where to get a descent one from experience?
Thanks.
Really hoping I can get advise as I've had the local saniflo engineer out, I've had plumbers advice, tried contacting saniflo, and still no clue. My saniflo operates shower, wc, and sink. Worked very well for years. Sink and shower still work well and drain normally but recently when flushing...

Hi there I'm wondering if someone can advise me on the best way to clean the magnetic filter that's fitted on my sons central heating system. it's an easy thing to access, just by closing off aa inline valve and then removing the fitter for cleaning.
I've done it once about a year ago and I...

Hi. Does anyone know where I can buy a tool to clean all the muck out of the chamber in the street. They are like mini post diggers. My mate had some but they were nicked. Cheers
Hello,
I'm a new user, amateur with little experience. To summarise, I've moved into a new house in the past year, the boiler has become very noisy, I'm planning to clean out the system and I was hoping for some general advice from people with experience.
The system is closed with a combi...

What do you guys use to clear the ch side of a blocked plate to plate? Got a mate on a tight budget, who's planning to ditch his Isar soon and would rather not fork out £100 on a new one.
I have a good set of brushes and cleaning tools for boiler heat exchangers but recently came across one where none was small enough to get into the space.
To the rescue, a 5mm cable tie. The serrations help to get deposit off the fins, and the plastic is too soft to damage anything.
Job done.
hi guys, I have been gas safe for nearly 1 year now but only just really dipping my toes into servicing and repair work. I have serviced a few boilers now and generally just sitting down and reading the MI has pretty much shed light on the whole processes for me. (plus I had been shadowing my...

I've got a shot of X300 in there that's been in there since last night and been run. As it's in my own home and I've all the time to care for it, are there any advantage in cooking it some more longer or should I be fine to drop it, flush and refill with X100?
Found a dead bird in a dhw tank after cust reported hw smelling, bird is removed whats the best way of cleaning it, any way to do it without removing it?
