banging
In computer engineering and electrical engineering, bit banging is slang for any method of data transmission that employs software as a substitute for dedicated hardware to generate transmitted signals or process received signals. Software directly sets and samples the states of GPIOs (e.g., pins on a microcontroller), and is responsible for meeting all timing requirements and protocol sequencing of the signals. In contrast to bit banging, dedicated hardware (e.g., UART, SPI interface) satisfies these requirements and, if necessary, provides a data buffer to relax software timing requirements. Bit banging can be implemented at very low cost, and is commonly used in embedded systems.Bit banging allows a device to implement different protocols with minimal or no hardware changes. In some cases, bit banging is made feasible by newer, faster processors because more recent hardware operates much more quickly than hardware did when standard communications protocols were created.
Hi, Im new to this forum and desperately need some help, my radiator in my frontroom is banging whenever the heating is on (with the occasional bang even when its off), the rads have been bled and we have tried that silencer stuff with little effect, I have also tried the TRV in all positions...
Last night one of the pipes in the house started banging every 12ish seconds, despite no water being used.
I turned the mains off and turned on a cold tap (mains feed), then turned of the feed to the hot water cylinder and turned on hot water taps.
however this just increased the time between...
To a layman the gas is arriving before the spark. In car terms the timing is retarded. Hopefully the installer wasn't! No fault code, just 1.2 bar displayed. 1 yr old. Seemed to start after a power down and restart. Thanks in advance.

This boiler has just started to pop and bang on ignition as if the spark is arriving after the gas, in car terns the timing is retarded! (I hope the installer wasn't!). It's been in a year and this only started after it went off this week when the power was out. Thanks in advance for your...
Allright guys quick question,
A have been out to job where some cowboy has fitted a combi 4 times the boy has flooded this guys house and was still getting leaking a john guest stop end on a old imperial 22 mm pipe any way i have had to fix a cake load of stuff.

Hi, looking for advice from you guys, the plumbing experts. Ever since my old Grundfos central heating pump (blue in colour) packed in over 9 months ago the local plumber replaced with the grundfos Alpha 2. It's been a nightmare truth be told!
the radiators have been banging which I've been...
Hi,The last few times after running the hot water for a bath or shower ( from combi boiler ) there has been a loud banging noise when you turn the tap off. Would this be an air lock and would a plumber or the gas engineer be the person to fix it ? How easy / difficult is it to fix and how long...
Got called to a customers property as their pipes would randomly make a banging noise. They thought it was a problem with the boiler - But the boiler wasn't running and all pipes were cool. The boiler is a heat line vizo (piece of crap I know), sealed system, the entire system is full of water...
Parents boiler.
ALOT of banging! When turned DHW on, temp digits rose to 99 and then shut down and tryed again. Also the Flow pipe started to get warm. Pressure gauge was decreasing aswell.
So i changed the expansion vessel thinking it was that, helped a bit but still banging.
Changed the plate...
Hi all,
I'm running some new pipework under floorboards (two radiators being moved to different walls downstairs).
I've taken care to run the pipes so they're not touching each other as they travel along the joists. However, they do touch on the final bend through the ceiling to the downstairs...
Hi, im looking for a bit of advice please.
My Central Heating keeps making a loud banging noise. This happens randomly but quite often, sometimes as much as two or three times a minute. The banging occurs in the Boiler (Baxi 80e - gas). It starts with a faint sound of water or air rushing and...

Hi Guys
I had to drain down my system to do some joints and fit in a new radiator. All went swimmingly. I refilled the system and drained the air from the rads which went fine. But there is a problem with the boiler, every time it tries to heat the water the boiler makes a banging noise. I...
Evening all.
Called out today to a profile that was apparently banging. Customer said sometimes he could hear it keep on clicking, but he said he didn't look to see if it was sparking. Turned it on/off about 20 times and it worked fine. Took the cover off and the ht lead was only on the...
Hi all,
We had a new boiler installed by British Gas in November last year and it's been ok so far up until a couple of days ago when it started banging when the heating switches off. The heating and water heat up fine but about 10 seconds after the boiler turns off (either manually or on...

Once my heating shuts off after been on the pipes dont half make a noise, am guessing its just water hammer but if anyone know any different let us know? Never used to do it so maybe the boiler is to blame.
I have a BAXI Duo-tec Combi 33 HE (installed June 2008) which has started to make some very loud banging noises (kettling I think & so loud the next door neighbour can hear it) when you run the shower or any of the hot water taps for a period of time.
We have had this problem previously but it...
Hello.. I'm hoping someone might be able to give us some advice. The pipes in our house are making a pretty loud banging noise... we had a water hammer arrester fitted but it is now worse. If you put your hands on the pipes before and after the arrester the one before is definitely vibrating...
Hi All
With Fernox F3 in the system the banging stopped, with it removed the banging stated again and before my previous thread got locked someone mentioned scale in the heat exchanger. I live in a relatively soft water area but I had to drain the system a while ago.
I was putting the...
know its been done to death in previous posts......but long story short...fitted new basin taps. The pipework supplying the old taps was in copper but heavily painted over and criss crossed at back of the basin - one ugly mess. So i thought would tidy it up and fitted iso valves/ flexi...
I hope someone can help...because this problem is driving me nuts.
I have a Potteron Suprima located in my garage with a Honeywell Frost Stat attached.
For the past week, the boiler has been making loud banging noises in the midle of the night when the neither the hot water or the heating are...
