banging
In computer engineering and electrical engineering, bit banging is slang for any method of data transmission that employs software as a substitute for dedicated hardware to generate transmitted signals or process received signals. Software directly sets and samples the states of GPIOs (e.g., pins on a microcontroller), and is responsible for meeting all timing requirements and protocol sequencing of the signals. In contrast to bit banging, dedicated hardware (e.g., UART, SPI interface) satisfies these requirements and, if necessary, provides a data buffer to relax software timing requirements. Bit banging can be implemented at very low cost, and is commonly used in embedded systems.Bit banging allows a device to implement different protocols with minimal or no hardware changes. In some cases, bit banging is made feasible by newer, faster processors because more recent hardware operates much more quickly than hardware did when standard communications protocols were created.
Hi,
I have a Tristor Telford thermal store in my flat and recently, it's started it make such loud banging noises, it sounds like a car crash! It will make these noises when the system is turned off (as there is no timer) at least 4 or 5 times an hour at all times of the day, when it's...

Hi we have a weird bangning noise when the cloakroom hot tap is turned on but when it is turned on fully it is fine and if it is turned on for just a dribble of water it is also fine. However, if it is turned on to run at a handwashing pace (?) the tap vibrates and there is a terrible banging...
Hello, I moved into my apartment a year ago and noticed that every night there is a consistent clicking noise coming from the pipes / radiators. My apartment is all on 1 floor, but the block of flats is 8 stories high. There are pipes (in each room with a radiator) which connect to the rooms...
Hello. A week ago we started to hear a random bang under the kitchen floor, which sounds like a pipe banging.
The bang occurs randomly throughout the day, and is not associated when we turn on or off water, or when water is being used.
We live on the top floor of a 5 flat building, built...
What could be the cause of a plumbing problem as follows in a house, the pipes bang when any tap is turned on. However when the mixer mixer shower in the bathroom is isolated by two iso valves. There is no banging from any taps. If I turn the iso valves back on nothing bangs but then when turn...

Some of my TRVs make a banging noise. I have a pumpedsystem, with 3 port valve and 2 loft tanks. The valves are all flowing in thecorrect direction with the arrows on valve body – the valves are on the flowpipes into rads.
Should I try replacing the valves? If not, would it be agood idea to try...
My central heating system is well over 20 years old, but it's been working reasonably well until recently.
Firstly it seemed the 3 way value was getting stuck and sometimes there wasn't any heating. Switching CH/HW off and on seemed to fix, and so I replaced the Honeywell valve's head...

I fitted a Potterton system boiler in a house 3 years ago and in the last 2 months the customer has complained about a banging noise coming from the boiler every so often. But yesterday was most of the day and after it came on this morning it did it and has now stopped. I went to have a look the...
Hello there,
thanks for taking the time to read this. Bit of a tricky one I think. I got called to a biomass boiler installation about 2 years old (not mine) where the central heating pipes inside the house are banging when the water temp at the boiler gets to 40 odd degrees. It is a 40kW herz...
Hi,
I have a combi boiler and 1 radiator upstairs is making a banging noise when the heating is turned on.
I have tried bleeding all the radiators and no air came out, just clear water.

I have a Glowworm Ultracom24cxi boiler - situated inside a specially built box on the wall of my kitchen. Every now and then I hear a loud clanking noise coming from the box. I'm absolutely...

Alright lads looking for some advice. Had a situation where every time the hot water zone valve shut there was a loud bang. The customer said this also happened last thing at night when heating goes off too but didn't happen with central heating valve when I was there. It's an open vented...
