wouldnt stay up long at 45 degrees!!!!!!!!!

I fitted an outside tap for my college bricky department and decided I might as well use the opportunity to use it as evidence of me following PPE rules for my portfolio. I'll have to scan the photo one day to show you how cool I look wearing a hard hat, ear defenders and goggles while drilling the hole standing on my ladder (propped at 45 degrees of course). I think it's 45 degrees, is it?

1 out for every 4 up I think!!?

I have some old photos from when I did my NVQ. I've a lot more hair, and less belly. Depressing!

I'll try and dig it out after my dinner and yeah, I think the ladder thing is 75 degrees or 1 in 4 - something like that.

I feel a new thread coming on - Portfolio Photos from back in the day :smiley2:

Couldn't be bothered plugging in the printer so here's some pics of the photos instead:

75 degree on the steps & 75 degree on the drill :)
LOL was waiting for that.

Edit: Then again, that was the bricky department for students so I think the wall was way out to be honest.

This ones for my gas port folio. PPE overkill!!
tbh I wear ear defenders when I even drill 18mm let alone dimoned drill ,on the did wear always ears defenders + dust mask .
I wonder how long it took to drill the 4" flue hole with this eubauer hamer dril !? Lol

Is that before you started dying your hair grey?! :30:
Ouch! That was the moment I began going grey.

Also, found the original photo and I was right - the wall was out:

I've got plenty of pictures. I'll start with these. Customer complaint about standard of workmanship. Yes that is the rear of the boiler in the second picture, the original installer didn't bother blocking up before he hung the boiler. It took two of us two days to put the install right, we had to repipe the entire heating system and run a new gas supply as he'd used the original undersized 15mm for a 30Kw combi.

Thought I was looking at American plumbing there at first.

What's that U piece on your gauge, I take it it's to prevent your hose kinking? Not that I have a use for my manometer atm but interested all the same.

If it is, it's on the wrong side ;)

I'm too tired to even contemplate what you're talking about but okay, if you say so lol.

Nice Danny. I bet the valve was there before the meter

Yeah, I'd put money on it being there a good while longer than the meter!

That's just to go on the end of the gauge when it's not in use. To stop the liquid spilling out. Nothing fancy mate!

I think Howsie is pulling your leg! The hose isn't connected to the gauge you see!

Wasn't this allowed back in the day though?

yes, especially with lead work: fold over the end and hammer flat! Have seen a number of places with copper pipe flattened and soldered, usually on water but occasionally on gas.

We are from Alberta, and I own an electrical company. I have been asked by a BC Mechanical P. Eng. to install an emergency STOP button at the man-door to the boiler room. It's intent is to 'halt' the operation of the boilers in the room should there be an emergency. He is demanding that I do...
