Telescopic ladders

Put my steps on top of the van while I was unloading some gear and forgot to put them back in the van, Anyway they are long gone now :banghead: so ive been looking at telescopic ladders to save on space. I've found a cheap set on eBay 3.8m (12ft6) folding Climb Aluminium Telescopic Ladder | eBay does anyone use these, or can recommend a set?

i use telesteps they are swedish but the dogs b not sure of other makes i also bought a pair from lidl a few years back dont use those though not the same build quality

I've got a set of these on the van! Don't like leaving stuff on top of the van!

I would say they're not for working on for extended periods as they do flex some when stood on them! But then I am 16st! I mainly use them for getting into lofts if the existing ladder is dodgy or not there!

Watch your fingers when you're putting it away too!

I don't trust them. Plus my brother broke his leg quite badly falling off a set of these before Christmas so extremely dubious about them.

The telling off my mum gave me when she told me about him didn't help. But then I did laugh.......

Only people i know who use them are estate agents and building surveyors and they dont really need fingers or legs for what they do. I dont think many site foremen would appreciate you getting them out your van either

Good job then I don't work on sites then, otherwise I'd be in for a right rollicking off a big scary site foreman!

For quick access to a loft which is when I use them the most, they're perfect! But then like most tools & equipment, use them beyond their limits & then you're putting yourself & others at risk!

I dot think you're actually allowed them on site at all, apparently they never passed a certain standard or something? I dunno, my mate told me.
ive had two sets of these, both nicked. Wont bother again, I'll stick to the steps, nobody seems interested in them.

No chance of using these on any of the big name house builders sites, they could even possibly kick you off site for using them. Great for accessing lofts etc

Loft access would be the main use, that's pretty much all I used my steps for, Ive got extension ladders for anything else
