Hi,

having some problems with our boiler/shower etc- any advice very, very gratefully received!

Basically the pressure dropped to about 0.4 bar the other day so the shower stopped working- we put the pressure back up to 1.5 and it worked fine for a couple of days no problem. but for the last 48 hours then there's only a small amount of water coming out of the tap and virtually none makes it out of the shower head at all- just a trickle. however, the boiler says the pressure is at 2.0-2.4 bar. so although it says it's at high pressure then the water in the system is behaving as though it's at low pressure and not really coming through.

not sure what to do- switched the boiler off and on again and have tried to tweak the pressure but to no avail. it's a Glow Worm Flexicom CX if that makes any difference!

thanks a lot in advance [reposted from previous thread once id registered]

The pressure gauge on your boiler is showing the pressure within the heating system. It has nothing to do with what's coming out of your taps.

2.0-2.4 is a bit high for system pressure - are you sure you shut the filling loop valves fully?

Are you getting hot water at other outlets?

pressure at the boiler is for your central heating system, nothing what so ever to do with the pressure at your taps. more than likely you've turned off the cold feed to the shower when recharging the central heating. go check you boiler valves are all on correctly

Hi all, thanks a lot for your advice. It's the type of shower where u pull a little sluice on the tap and it goes from tap function to shower function- i've checked and both the hot and cold flows to that tap are fine but when I pull the sluice up nothing comes out of the shower- so I guess it's a problem with the shower attachment rather than the mains? thanks.

so yeah hot water from all other taps, inc the tap linked to the shower head :)

Probably the knob has become detached from the diverter mechanism..

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
