machine
A machine is a physical system using power to apply forces and control movement to perform an action. The term is commonly applied to artificial devices, such those employing engines or motors, but also to natural biological macromolecules, such as molecular machines. Machines can be driven by animals and people, by natural forces such as wind and water, and by chemical, thermal, or electrical power, and include a system of mechanisms that shape the actuator input to achieve a specific application of output forces and movement. They can also include computers and sensors that monitor performance and plan movement, often called mechanical systems.
Renaissance natural philosophers identified six simple machines which were the elementary devices that put a load into motion, and calculated the ratio of output force to input force, known today as mechanical advantage.Modern machines are complex systems that consist of structural elements, mechanisms and control components and include interfaces for convenient use. Examples include: a wide range of vehicles, such as automobiles, boats and airplanes; appliances in the home and office, including computers, building air handling and water handling systems; as well as farm machinery, machine tools and factory automation systems and robots.

Hi,
Recently moved into a house and the valve on the washing machine tee does not close properly and is leaking.

Hi All
I have found that the drain hose from the washing machine is being squashed. This is preventing the washing machine from draining.
How can I stop this from happening? The main problem is the washing machine is a tight fit and has to be pushed right back as far as possible.
Any ideas?
Jim
Hi all
Hope everyone is staying safe in these bizarre times! I was hoping to get some advice from the experts on waste pipes for a washing machine. I'm not a plumber, but I think I'm reasonably able when it comes to DIY.
I'd like to move my washing machine from the kitchen into a hall cupboard...
I recently fitted a new washing machine along with a new cold water feed hose. Since installation whenever the toilet upstairs finishes filling, the shower is turned off, the cold water tank in the loft stops filling or the kitchen cold tap is turned off, there is a clunking noise coming from...

The cellar runs below the...

Hello! DIY noob hear asking for advice on a leak from an air break.

Hi there,
I have an F05 error code on my hotpoint washing machine and think it related to a blockage.
Would anyone know how I can go about checking to see where the blockage is?
I assume I need to switch off my water from mains before I check?
Thank you!
from photo, are the two stand pipes ok, do they need traps? Would one stand pipe be better, does that need a trap, does it need an air valve? Is the upturn on waste pipe acceptable. Intermittent problems with smell.
hi, i have a 40mm boss connection at the top of a horizontal soil stack that runs in the room. I'm intending to put a washing machine stand pipe at the end of this.

Hi, I have a new Beko integrated washing machine (4 months)that we’ve had to remove and put back in due to a flood below the floor. Ever since the appliance had been loudly squeaking on spin cycle like it’s rubbing. The space is tight but obviously was fine before and it has a water level at the...
Been doing ok so I treated myself to a rothy pipe freeze machine. Up to 28mm - very impressed with the tests I've done in the yard at work.
