Help please my washing machine stopped working last night, so I've getting a new one today and it's doing the exact same thing I've looked through the pipes and nothing is blocking it even tried to drain into a bucket and nothing only thing is When a moved in the outside tap was connected to the cold so the washer was on the hot cos there wasn't a splitter on it. But I got it changed about a year ago and it's all been totally fine. I did a load of washing yesterday morning and it worked. I thought it was my washer. But then this one's doing the same fills with water but the drum won't turn and then an error code appears. Anyway I've tried connecting it back to the hot tap and that doesn't work either. I'm so baffled like it really cant be a coincidence that both do exactly the same can it.

On your new machine, there are transit bolts which hold the drum in place for when it’s bouncing around in the back of a lorry - have you removed these? Usually three large bolts at the back?

Please don’t connect your machine to the hot!! You will void the warranty, possibly damage the machine, almost certainly ruin your clothes.

Hi thanks for replying, this isn't my problem it's my friends but I will show her about the hot connection, I think she said that because gentoo had messed it up before and it was plumbed into the hot so thought that may be why. Yes the transit bolts are definitely out. The washer came on for half a cycle and then stopped as it wouldn't spin. She's worried it could be something to do with her pipework as two washers are doing the same!

If it's a new washing machine call the manufacturer's helpline and ask them what to do. If it's not within warranty check the 'fault-finding' section of the instructions or Google the make and model and add 'error code' to your query.

On my washing machine there is one cyle that finishes with the drum full of water and you have to push some button (or something, I forget) to get it to drain and spin.
