A given name (also known as a first name or forename) is the part of a personal name that identifies a person, potentially with a middle name as well, and differentiates that person from the other members of a group (typically a family or clan) who have a common surname. The term given name refers to a name bestowed at or close to the time of birth, usually by the parents of the newborn. A Christian name is the first name which is given at baptism, in Christian custom.
In informal situations, given names are often used in a familiar and friendly manner. In more formal situations, a person's surname is more commonly used. The idioms 'on a first-name basis' and 'being on first-name terms' refer to the familiarity inherent in addressing someone by their given name.By contrast, a surname (also known as a family name, last name, or gentile name) is normally inherited and shared with other members of one's immediate family. Regnal names and religious or monastic names are special given names bestowed upon someone receiving a crown or entering a religious order; such a person then typically becomes known chiefly by that name.
A galvanised pipe on our property burst and water was seeping up to ground level. We dug and found where it burst [it's in the garden but the pipe eventually shoots off under the deck and house], called in a plumber who said he couldn't fix it that day due to other work but temporarily stopped...

Lady across the road from me has a problem with her saniflo, I know a lot people would tell me to steer clear of these things but I'm happy to do anything for the right price. She said it doesn't always clear the waste away but if she gives it a kick it will work.

Hello all,
I am new to this site and have a problem with my boiler.
It is a Glow-worm spacesaver and the problem is this,
when I turn it on the burner ignites and the pump runs.
After a few minutes the burner cuts out on what I think
is the overheat thermostat.
That's it in a nutshell.
Any...
To date, I've only done a couple flushes on sealed systems on a single floor.
And to be honest, I was given a pump and told, go power flush this property and I had no idea what to do :/
So on the way to the job I googled it and did it as best I could. In a nutshell, drained a rad, connected...
Didn't realise they were so pricey, I'm blown away! It's a 110V and he gave me a transformer as well. Apparently one clamp doesn't freeze brilliantly. Any recommendations as to where to get it looked over and re-gassed if necessary?

Hi,

Hello I have had to replace a 3 hole basin mixer tap valve and can't source a single ceramic valve so have had to order a new complete tap set... Only thing is I've been given a 3/4 size set. When I phoned the supplier they told me it is for bath and basin. I have never fitted a 3/4 basin tap...

For a new boiler and not heard anything back.
You then get a missed call and an answer phone message from that person. You listen to it expecting a question or to hear you got the job but instead they think they have called another person and are asking for a boiler quote.

Although not as bad as Billy I myself am a powertool maniac and have to have all my expensive toys around me to do every single job.
