Victoria Plumb Bath Taps

Has anyone else noticed that all (except 2) of Victoria Plumb's bath taps are rated at 0.5 bar? Not ideal for the average 1st floor bathroom with CWSC in loft...

Has anyone else noticed that all (except 2) of Victoria Plumb's bath taps are rated at 0.5 bar? Not ideal for the average 1st floor bathroom with CWSC in loft...

I haven't bought anything from Victoria plumb since a basin tap body blew off in a customer's house and she woke up to noise of water pouring into her bathroom. And it wasn't onto a combi it was from a vented cylinder. Pathetic quality from there sometimes. Fitted a few shower cubicles and they seemed ok though but taps never again

I bet that was messy... Anyway, I'm a spark by trade but done a bit of bathroom fitting in my time so though I would dust off the tools and tackle my bathroom (been promising the missus for ages). Ordered the taps and a couple of bits and bobs from VP and they look and feel alright - though you have just put the mockers on that! Just can't believe all their bath taps are only guaranteed to work at minimum 0.5 bar. Smacks of a get out of guarantee / sale of goods act if they go wrong. As it happens they work just fine with 2 metres of head, which just reinforces my thoughts that it is just a con to catch out the unwary who would assume a bathtap would be good for the average gravity system...

most likely the reason they put min .5bar is that if you have less and use them the water will come out like a dribble and you won't have any comeback because they stated min .5bar

prob made for market that normally has mains pressure supplies. Imported into the uk much like the sanitary and sold with there name to it.

I get the feeling that most manufactures thick that everyone has a combi now!!

Did a job recently and explained he needed taps suitable for low pressure as the tank was on the joist above the bathroom, so at best 2m head. taps arrived stated on the box suitable for all plumbing systems, and customer had checked at time of order they would be ok, open box read instructions "min 0.5 bar" so not really any good for low pressure!!
