Hey guys,

I recently had a leak dripping in my kitchen, after searching around for the source I found this.

Its under a bath upstairs and pretty inaccessible, just to make things more interesting I guess.

I think it’s an old lead pipe with one of the joints of a t piece cut short, squished a little and filled with lead to cap it. It’s this capped end that has a very small leak and causing the water to drip down into the kitchen.

What would be the best way of sealing it and stopping the leak? As it’s been squished I don’t think an end cap would fit.

Thanks for the hammer advice gmartine! Nothing I wanted to do more than smash it after it’s caused such a headache! A few little taps however and it looks much better, not a microscopic jet stream, now just a small droplet clinging on after 10 or so minutes.
I appreciate that replacing the pipe is the best solution but until then is there a better fix? Perhaps applying another layer of solder?
Thanks for the quick reply guys!

Had reasonable success with this product as a quick fix but really its not a permanent fix . Kop
