certainly shouldn't have left you with having to seal the bath to tiles.

Thanks for the link I may end up needing to. Lot if people saying a fix will come back to haunt me
 
With the bath being an inch away from both the side and back wall without any fixing or sealant then the bath could move a fair bit when being used......this could potentially cause major damage! Did the guy who fit this honestly think It looked alright???!!! Get a local plumber to have a look and do a proper job.
